Mr Emmanuel Onyekeson

My name is Emmanuel Onyekeson. I was born in the early 80’s to the family of Mr and Mrs Sunday Onyekeson.  I am a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Kaduna state, Nigeria. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Integrated Science (Educ). I currently teach at Oakland International School, Maitama, Abuja, Nigeria.

I believe that everyone, regardless of age, cultural background or religious affiliation should be treated with respect. I believe in humility because it is one of the important traits a leader should exhibit and as a teacher and a member of the Project Know Thyself team. I see myself as a leader.

Project know thyself (PKTS) is a process of understanding “YOU” - the human being on deeper levels than the surface. It is an unpredictable road that you must be willing to explore. It brings you face to face with your deep self-doubts and insecurities. It makes you take a serious look at the way you are living your life and put it to question.

Knowing yourself means understanding your strengths and weaknesses, your passions and fears and your desires and dreams. It means being aware of your uniqueness, your likes and dislikes, and your tolerances and limitations.

PKTS as a curriculum is fantastic and it competes with the existing International Primary Curriculum. Learning that takes place in the school with linkage to the world around them, is showcased by the children and staff as an exit point. Teaching and learning is curriculum linked, creative and innovative.

Getting to know yourself allows you to tap into the well of happiness beyond your imagination.

Know thyself!!!

“You need to know things the others don't know. It's what no one knows about you that allow you to know yourself.”

I am a teacher in the UK with experience in all areas of primary education such as Key Stag one and two and Early Years. I have been teaching since 2008 after getting my first degree in Primary Education at University of Cape Coast, Ghana and my PGCE at University of Cumbria in the UK.

Project KnowThyself is an amazing opportunity for children and adults to understand who they are with regards to their personal, social and emotional background. It is also important to know yourself in order to understand other's individuality.

As a teacher, I have taught using the IPC curriculum, both in the UK and abroad. In Nigeria I worked in a British Curriculum school where I co-ordinated IPC infused Project KnowThyself. Each year group learned about a culture in Nigeria and compared it with a culture in the UK and a country around the world such as India, Mexico, Ghana etc. At the end of each term, the children and teachers come up with a presentation to summarise their learning through poetry, music, drumming and dancing and other performances. This boosted their pride and confidence in sharing their rich and amazing culture with others.

"The first thing you have to know is yourself. A man who knows himself can step outside himself and watch his own reactions like an observer."

I am part of the board of Director and the secretary of PKTS Abuja. and I am privileged to be in this fantastic, mind blowing and world shakers group.

I believe strongly that together as a force we will transform Africa, Europe, Asia and the world as a whole.

We will use our last strength to make sure we implement self-realization to everyone that we encounter from the needy, poor, middle class and the rich.

Many are living life without knowing who they are, what their purpose is, what drives them and what they represent as human. We are out to inculcate in them their rights, morals, standards, etiquette and how their life can affect the human race positively.

                                      QUOTES OF KNOW THYSELF

He who knows others is wise; he who knows himself is enlightened.”

“Life is like a game of chess. To win you have to make a move. Knowing which move to make comes with IN-SIGHT and knowledge, and by learning the lessons that are added up along the way.

“The first thing you have to know is yourself. A man who knows himself can step outside himself and watch his own reactions like an observer.”

“Your own Self-Realization is the greatest service you can render the world.”

My name is Richard Asiedu and I am one of the board of Directors for Project Know ThySelf. I was born in Ghana but I have been living and working in London for over a decade. I am married to Dorinda. I have considerable experience in Security and Risk Management and I am currently specialising in Business Continuity Management through academia and mentorship.

I'm very passionate about ventures that are aimed at changing or improving status quo positively. Thus, Project Know Thyself (PKTS) and its values are not just what I stand for, but also what I will ensure that I contribute my quota.
My background and life experience has taught me that if we can identify our strengths and match it with opportunities, our weaknesses and threats notwithstanding, we can change the state of affairs. No matter who we are, there is something absolutely unique about everyone that can be developed into strength. Therefore, there is hope for all and sundry.

“No one is free who has not obtained the empire of himself. No man is free who cannot command himself.”
